we just got a super cute pug (no not biased at all), named salsa. my husband has ALWAYS wanted a pug, and austin has a fantastic rescue group so a pug we now have!

here’s ‘fruit’ all colored in. i like keeping a scene simple, yet adding in some funny details, and feel the fruit guys do a good job of that! a single color version will be going on a tea towel as well.

the stationery show is quickly approaching so i’m super illustration mode and really excited about the new cards that i’ll have at the show. here’s acouple new ones that’s i cannot wait to print up…

lumberjack bean! he says “happy birthday to a real man” on the inside

and a ‘get well’ card – i always have trouble coming up with these guys, but i’m happy about this pill!

well it’s WAAAY past valentine’s day, but still needed to share my ridiculous new oven mitts. i’m in super new design production mode (both exciting and stressful!) already planning for a bunch of new cards for stationery show coming up in may.

here we are folks. these oven mitts are quite sultry with the line inside reads “our love is too hot to handle!” greeting created by the amazing adam and leslie welch (a super pun duo if there ever was one!)

i love lobsters…well usually eating them, so i feel a bit guilty about how much i like how mr. lobster (cap’n lobster?) turned out here. It’s so fun drawing animals that i think are so familiar, and then the more I look at pictures/video when working on the image i notice all sorts of weird interesting details. for instance, always knew the claws were different on lobsters, but didn’t realize one claw has jaggedy edges and the other one is rounded. fun fun. this guy will be seen on tea towels and napkins very soon!

this is why i love sketching. i can draw ridiculous images like this! i just came across this in one of my sketch books. clearly drawn during one of the majors. totally obsessed with the australian open right now, so this is very fitting!

i think if i was an animal i’d want to be a tiger. besides the fact no one will mess with you since you’re the biggest cat around (yep, bigger than lions), you get be striped all over. super fun. maybe though i’d like to be a rainbow striped tiger…

french brewers

i’ve been working on a really fun project for a french brewers event in nyc. I worked on the event design. I love doing illustrated logos, and this event fit really well since it’s craft breweries and they wanted a bit of a hand-done feel. perfect fit! I worked with the amazing PR woman Catherine Berthier, of Berthier Communications on this project.

you can see the website for the event here. we worked with the fantastic audrey romano for the web programming and making our design web-friendly, because my gosh i am terrible at that.

been working on some pandas, and put these guys up on pingg! it’s a bit weird to finish them since panda are black and white and i almost always make my line work something other than black. fun though!
